Board Meetings
As a region we are responsible to send at least the Director to all three AHYA
Board meetings and the Vice-director to at least one AHYA Board Meetings. It
would be great if the Vice-director would like to go to all three board meetings,
but it is not required. Each officer is responsible for paying for their travel, but
they will be reimbursed after the silent auction at Regionals.
There are three AHYA Board meetings a year Katie Reynolds will let you know
the exact dates and times:
August in Denver or October at US Nationals
March or January in Denver
July at Youth Nationals
At the meetings you will discuss everything you every wanted to know about
how Youth Nationals works. The Board meetings are a tremendous amount of
fun; you will make friends with several individuals across the nation. Denver is
beautiful and on Saturday night you will get to go on a fun outing such as Six
Flags or the Denver Rodeo.
The most important thing about being on the board is to get your job done, but
don’t forget to have fun. You are a role model to the rest of the youth; take this
job with honor and respect it. Remember why you are in office; to help our breed
grow in a positive direction. The foremost important thing to keep in mind is “you
can make a difference and you will”.
