I am so excited about being your region 9 director. I hope this year will be the best ever!! I really want to increase our participation and to have fun! Vice Director:Casey Lane
Hi, my name is Casey Lane and I am Vice Director for the region 9 youth club for the 2005-2006 show season, I am also President of the Alamo Arabian Youth Club. I am 16 years old and attend Churchill High School in San Antonio, Texas. I started riding when I was six years old and have owned four horses since then. I have ridden at almost every barn in San Antonio and I am currently training with Jeanne Harford at Valley View Equestrian Center. I own an 8 year old purebred gelding named Thee Jokers Wild (Joker) and have successfully shown him in Show Hack, Side Saddle, Country Pleasure, and Native Costume. This year at Region 9 Joker was named Regional Champion in Native Costume JTR and Open Native Costume! He was also named Top Five in Show Hack ATR, and Open Side Saddle. Joker then went on to be National Top Ten in Native Costume JTR and JOTR! I also enjoy showing a half Arabian horse named MM Cherokee Warrior (CW), owned by the Williams family, in 14-17 Western Pleasure, Western horsemanship, Halter, and Trail. I plan on going to a lot of shows this year so if you see me around feel free to come over and talk to me, Casey.
Secretary: Annalise Himmel
Hey guys! My name is Annalise Himmel and I live in a small town in southeast Louisiana called Schriever. I am your 2005 – 2006 Region 9 youth secretary. As a freshmen at my high school I enjoy hobbies such as student council, cheering, and competing on the track and field team in the spring. I have been showing Arabians and Half Arabians since I was three years old. Naturally I started off in leadline and worked my way up showing in all styles of riding from sidesaddle and native costume to showmanship and horsemanship. As far as my love for Arabians is concerned, there are no words to describe it. Just like every other horse lover they’re your family… we pray when their hurt, we cry when the pass away, we rejoice when they do something good… What horse lover can say that their horses don’t eat drink and sleep before they do? I can’t imagine my life without horse shows and trailer rides and pulling all night watches when a maiden mare is expecting. Basically, there is no better sound than the sound of your horses yelling for you when you’re going to the car for a 7:30 class every morning. Today, I think we should all share this bond for our beautiful Arabian horses together by getting involved with the Region 9 youth. I hope to help Michele and all of the officers to make this year the best!
